„Ivalo Arctica” is the arctic service container/supply vessel of 36 TEU capacity designed by Remontowa Marine Design & Consulting (RMDC). She will be deployed in Atlantic route as a feeder ship for Greenland (connecting mainly Aalborg and Greenland’s Nuuk in regular service). She is a kind of a crossover between supply ships, geared containerships and icebreakers. She meets the demand of harsh climate conditions including temperatures falling to as low as minus 40 degrees C. RMDC provided basic and detail design. “Ivalo Arctica” was built at Remontowa SA and delivered to Danish Owner Royal Arctic Line A/S in March 2016 as a first of the series of two.
