On 17 December 2025, the official handover of the ferry M/F Jantar Unity took place, marking the completion of the construction phase carried out by „REMONTOWA” Shiprepair Yard. 

The vessel was delivered to the shipowner PŻM / Unity Line and is now ready to operate on the Świnoujście – Trelleborg and Świnoujście – Ystad routes, which are among the key maritime links between Poland and Sweden.

For our team, this is a truly special moment — the delivery of Jantar Unity represents the culmination of four years of intensive design work, commitment, and close cooperation between many specialists as well as numerous partners. It is an important success for Remontowa Marine Design & Consulting and another step forward in strengthening our competencies and demonstrating the capabilities of our team.

Our office was responsible for the concept design, developed jointly with the shipowner; the technical design, approved by the classification society DNV; the working design, prepared in accordance with the standards of „REMONTOWA” Shiprepair Yard and its subcontractors; as well as the as-built documentation delivered on board.

Jantar Unity is the first of three next-generation ferries being built for this shipowner at „REMONTOWA” Shiprepair Yard. The vessel is equipped with an electric propulsion system based on azipods, supported by LNG-fuelled engines and a battery system. This hybrid arrangement combines a significant reduction of the carbon footprint with high operational efficiency and excellent manoeuvrability in port operations. In addition, a high-capacity shore power connection system has been installed, aligned with the “Fit for 55” pathway.

M/F Jantar Unity will be the first ferry to operate under the new Polish brand POLSCA Baltic Ferries, established in May 2025 by Polska Żegluga Morska (Unity Line), Polska Żegluga Bałtycka (Polferries) and EuroAfrica. The initiative aims to strengthen the position of Polish shipowners in the Baltic ferry market.
