Yesterday, the second Ro-Pax ferry, NB102, was launched at Remontowa Shiprepair Yard S.A. as part of the ongoing project for Polskie Promy.

The hull, constructed from six megablocks (including the engine room, LNG tank, and bow thrusters), was assembled on semi-submersible heavy-lift barges and successfully launched into the water. Following the launch, the ferry will be moored at the quay, where further outfitting works will commence.

Similar to its predecessor, NB101 (launched on October 31, 2023), NB102 incorporates advanced technological and logistical solutions, highlighting the sophistication of Poland’s shipbuilding industry. The next stage will involve installing the superstructure, consisting of seven blocks, followed by interior outfitting, including car and passenger decks.

The construction of these ferries is of strategic importance to the Polish maritime fleet, enhancing its competitiveness, supporting local shipyards and subcontractors, and implementing eco-friendly LNG technologies. These modern Ro-Pax ferries will soon represent Poland on European routes, showcasing the potential, innovation, and development of the Polish shipbuilding sector.

Our design office proudly contributed to this project by delivering the conceptual design, technical documentation, and working drawings. We extend our gratitude to our team for their dedication and professionalism.
